About R&A

Rockwell & Ashland Mercantile was founded by Patrick Caffery, a Chicago retailer, merchandiser, and fragrance enthusiast with a lifelong appreciation for thoughtfully designed spaces.

Before launching Rockwell & Ashland, Patrick spent years leading retail operations and customer experience teams for national brands including Williams-Sonoma, Abercrombie & Fitch, Express, and Rebuilding Exchange. Earlier in his career, he worked in cosmetics and personal fragrance, developing an appreciation for the power scent has to shape memory, atmosphere, and emotion.

Throughout that journey, one idea remained constant: the spaces we inhabit matter.

Inspired by Chicago's historic architecture, neighborhood character, and the warmth of lived-in homes, Rockwell & Ashland Mercantile was created to celebrate the atmosphere of everyday life through fragrance and thoughtfully designed lifestyle goods.

Each candle is hand-poured in small batches in Chicago using premium soy wax and carefully layered fragrance compositions designed to evoke a sense of place, comfort, and connection.

Today, Rockwell & Ashland Mercantile remains rooted in the belief that home should feel personal, welcoming, and deeply meaningful.
